Thank You Carol!!

Excellent Work!

Makes you wonder what the score would have been if Sutter and Horvat didn't play....

Thanks Carol great blog as usual.

Haven't watched this team for the last 4 games as I find.it to be a little painful too watch at times. Some injection of physicality and skill up front is greatly needed, but if they play hard like they seem to be the current youth will have learned some very valuable lessons moving forward.

To be honest the games haven't been terrible to watch. The Pens game was a bit of a struggle with Bo and Sutter, but all things considered they didn't play awful.

You are fast. I incorrectly posted that incomplete comment.

You are probably right I just have had enough of the Sedin's & was adamantly opposed.to the Erickson signing. Only 106 to go.
Also, do not like watching my team not making any physical contact, not my idea of entertainment

The team is insanely soft. I feel like Skille should be hitting, but doesn't, and it makes me sad all day.
With no Gudbranson and Dorsett, no one hits apart from Tryamkin.

Be glad you missed PIT then, that was painfully unphysical. Lots of fishing and waving for pucks

Its not a terrible argument at all. Look at the Oilers thread right now regarding Lucic. He is contributing on the PP, getting primary and secondary assists on all of McDavid's goals, but is one of the worst players on the team for points at 5v5. You need well rounded players in today's NHL, ones who don't only produce on PP's. His stats show that he is actually producing points as a "4th line CHL player" at even strength. That, to me, would instantly raise flags.

But you're discounting his points as though they don't contribute to winning games - which isn't right. Regardless of secondary/primary assist. The goal still counts. Theres a bigger picture - If Lucic hadn't have passed to McDavid would they have won? The best teams in the league usually have high PP% - its essential to winning (unless you're Toronto and Buffalo) Also, even though he's not producing well this year, Lucic hasn't that issue his entire career...

You also can't assume that because the majority of his points are coming on the PP NOW, that it will be this way for the rest of his career.

The fact is this kid got great hands, uses his size to his advantage, plays around the net, is a two way centerman and is a pretty good skater for his size. Sounds well rounded to me. And we have to consider his future development.

Out of all the clips i've seen, scouting reports and blogs from anyone who's seem him play - I haven't come across anyone thats discounted this kids entire career bcus of PP points.

Disappointing really that this group of knowledgeable, well reasoned folks took so long to figure it out.

They are. And then I watch EDM manhandle Philly last night..good for the Oil they have done some good things there. Team is bloody tough to play against with Kassian Lucic and Maroon there and when Nurse gets back..look out.

Everyone on the team should initiate contact all the time...if you have that " one guy " who plays physical...then you have no physicality at all really. All in or all out it would seem.

I am not saying drop the kid down 4 rounds in the draft because he can't score at even strength, he is obviously talented, but it would be stupid to not factor in even strength points when evaluating these kids in the draft, especially with your 1st round pick.

I think there are exceptions to players finishing their checks, a lot of skill forwards do not, but for the most part your defense should make contact all the time and your forwards should not shy away from it

Thanks Carol. If moves are made the break is the time to do it. Don't see waiting for something better by TDL and be left standing at the alter. Though still believe he's not pulling the trigger just to get only something. JB has his value meter.

Vegas and asset management reasons aside. Do you think Bo's contract and rise to maybe even score 30 might be a factor in taking away his wingers now?

most teams have 2-3 forwards with over 90 hits, not including their D - we have Tryamkin at 109 and the F with the most hits is Gaunce......f&*king GAUNCE with 80!!!!
We desperately need some guys that are at least willing to even throw a hit. Right now, our forwards are using their "speed" to create turnovers and it doesn't really make things too difficult for opposing defenders.

Thanks, job has changed, I just finished an extensive week of meetings here in Victoria, now heading to Montreal to do the same, and then Halifax the week after, then back here for a week, then Germany for three.

I have found that something had to give in my 16 hours days and HB is it. Besides, mom tells me I have anger issues when it comes to the pom pom canuck posters...
